What if... What if the great digital revolution we rejoice in every day is not our benefactor, but our eventual master.

What if it all collapses someday. Who here knows how to clean a chicken or forge a blade? Medieval skills would be highly prized should society meltdown occur.

And I can spin and weave both wool and linen, and clean a chicken, and plant a garden, and prune fruit trees for maximum bearing, and make either fruit leather, jam, or wine from them. I do embroidery of several sorts too, but that's just for pretty. Learning to knit, I already know how to crochet.
He can cut a tree down and make anything of it, he's an accredited journeyman blacksmith, and his current dream is to build a little bitty furnace in the back yard so he can play around with casting metal. We can both make shoes and other leather items, and he can sew on buttons while I am drafting and cutting the garment. He's also delivered a few babies in his time.

We'll also need to assemble a team that can plow and harvest, and more artisans re looming and such. Cannery skills are good, basic food preservative methods are also valued.

What is sadly lacking in most circles, is the skills to hunt and dress game. That is supposing game exists in the future.

I do have serious concerns about the digital future.

Thanks for responding. Your input is appreciated.

My grandmother was said to have known quite a bit about Native American medicine. Alas, much of it has been lost.

Hell, none of us can even remember her cookie recipe. All I know is that it used nutmeg, because whenever she made cookies, I had to grind the nutmeg.
