    •  I'm not quibbling about whether it is 92 or 97% (1+ / 0-)

but more along the lines of other issues (the well being of the indigenous peoples, for example, see Thirst for Energy Fuels Controversial Power Project) that have great resonance at this site in other contexts . . . .

      •  I saw that too, but I was just doing a quick scan (0+ / 0-)

        looking for percentages.

As far as I can tell indigenous people get relocated off their land just about every time and no one seems to care in the places I've seen it. Support for relocation often comes from unusual sectors also. Those seeking to make National Parks or provide unhunted habitat for large carnivores in SE Asia, assisted by the timber industry, rubber, and mining. Hydro seems especially bad as it covers the most fertile bottomlands.

(disproportionately Dk'ers it would seem), while others do not.

Which IMHO is highly hypocritically for an internet community, which (something that might resonate with you personally) uses about the same amount of energy as aviation . .. ..

          •  There is no hypocrisy in using electricity (1+ / 0-)

to campaign for renewable sources of electricity. Nor in flying to conferences that consider the possibility of biofuels for aviation. Among other such things.
