    Life's pretty miserable. You're getting yelled at almost every day, hit every few weeks, and maybe sent to the doctor or the emergency room once or twice a year, or even every other year.

    Staying in the relationship, because you are afraid of the future if you choose a different path? At least, if you leave, you'll have a better chance of having a future, instead of marking time until the abuse becomes deadly.

    Afraid it might be too expensive -- that you can't afford to change psychically or financially?   You can't afford to stay in the relationship -- it's costing all sorts of psychic and economic hardships and incalculable lost opportunities.

    So, Rubio is throwing his lot in with the abusers, or just agreeing to keep quiet and take it?

      For the 1% and the fossil fuel industry. Simply because they don't want to have to pay the extra money to be green. And hell, they probably figure they'll be gone by the time it hits and you see the regard they give to everyone else living now. They could easily say "screw 'em" to future generations.
