    likes having bases worldwide and taxpayers fund new technologies. The actual combat may be low tech, not even on the books like JSOC, Obama's personal army. The US is more about disrupting democracy for geostrategy.

    In terms of our republican form of government, the issue is not wars per se but disarmament, as was explained by Charles Sumner before the Mexican War, in 1845 before he became a senator in the classic "The True Grandeur of Nations." And again in 1870 at the end of his career in "The Duel between France and Germany", these incorporated into his multivolume "Works" available free online. Sumner argued for a UN, but this provides genuine benefits only with disarmament.
