the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria.
I remember in 6th grade or so, the teacher asking us students the nam e of Columbus's fleet. Jimmy pipes up "Nina!" Sheila pipes up "Pinta!". Then the teacher looks at me, because of course I was half asleep. "And the third?" I says "Mayflower."
Did you know there is always about 2 seconds of absolute dead silence before everybody busts out with laughter??
Never did like that Columbus after that....

6% of scientists are republican. Scientists have no explanation why that number is so high.

Of course I do!  I've watched the cartoons where Charlie Brown gives a report in front of his class.

In the tenth grade the teacher asked a question & noticed my friend next to me wasn`t paying attention, so he told him to stand up and answer.
My friend had no clue what the question was, so I snuck the answer to him out of the side of my mouth, "King Ferdinand", knowing full well the answer was "Winston Churchill".
In complete faith that he had the right answer he proudly proclaimed it to be, "King Ferdinand".
Everybody burst out laughing including the teacher who well knew my ways.

I`m already against the next war.

      Third grade --- homonyms

Kids waving hands... teacher calls on me...

"My mother went to the store to buy a loaf of bread. B-R-E-A-D."

"My father bred a cow. B-R........" And we are all sent out for an unscheduled recess. Everybody shuns me because we all realize I have done something BAD.

I learned the relativity of time that day. While I was still talking everything slowed way down. The teacher's eyes widened and she started turning a strange shade of puce. Then we were sent outside.

My father was one of the earliest artificial inseminators for dairy and other cattle for American Breeding Service in the early 1950's.

But I DID know the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria!
