      •  Maybe we should tone it down (0+ / 0-)

with all the "rich assholes" stuff then if it is actually the case that not all rich people are Republicans at all. It turns out a lot of them realize the country would be better off, and their lifestyles unaffected, by having higher tax rates applied to large income streams. The greedy anti-tax, anti-business regulation ones are our foes, not the million and billionaires who come to Democratic events and generously support not only the DNC, DCCC, and DSCC, but lots of other pro-liberal orgs such as People For or Media Matters. Instead of railing on "the 1%" or "the rich" perhaps we can pick up some sensitivity ourselves by clarifying which rich people we're really talking about. The Kochs may be a tiny part of the 1%, but they're really better described as a part of the 1% of the 1% - the 0.01%. And don't forget that even in this small crowd we have our supporters as well. They may have more rich people but we've got plenty of rich people too. It's time to treat them as just as much a part of our family as we do the 99% (which we think of as us, but is really a group of poorer people that includes about half Republicans - your low-incomes, evangelicals, tea party crackpots, racists and homophobes).

Is it not written "There's a lot goes on we don't get told."? (Lu Tze)
