They aren't going to miss $10 million here or there, and if "our side" scrapes up $10 million of our own they'll just up their give to $20 million or $30 million, and still feel no pain over it.

And it's not just campaign cash. They have been shoveling money into long term investments in schools, think tanks, lobbying efforts, etc. For years.

“Texas is a so-called red state, but you’ve got 10 million Democrats here in Texas. And …, there are a whole lot of people here in Texas who need us, and who need us to fight for them.” President Obama

    •  they win because we don't fight back (0+ / 0-)

we give up on races instead of arranging a huge media buy to expose thei lie. C'mon George Sros, or even George Clooney or George Lucas, open the wallet and kick them in the balls!

Is it not written "There's a lot goes on we don't get told."? (Lu Tze)

    •  Above a certain ceiling, more $$ has little effect (0+ / 0-)

as was said of nuclear overkill, it makes the rubble bounce.
Rove squandered hundreds of millions in 2012, and the Kochs mostly lost also.

All our side needs is enough money to get the message through in all close races.  I am sending Grants (ie $50's) to better Dems running for Senate and House, but MCNW is right that Steyer shouldn't be the only liberal Billionaire giving liberally to liberal candidates.

There's no such thing as a free market!
