It's too late. Once the two GA senators returned their blue slips, and the group of candidates had their hearings, it slipped out of the GOP's control. It's now up to what the committee votes. They can approve all of the nominees, only the Demorcatic picks, or everyone but Boggs. It was a "package deal" to get the candidates through the Blue Slip process, but it is not a package deal to get them voted out of committee or by the full senate.

to finally get my question answered! Thanks.

I don't believe Boggs losing the Committee vote will stop him though. I think it's just a recommendation and could very well win a full up-or-down vote. The only way he is for sure stopped after the Committee vote is if Reid never schedules the guy a floor vote. Which would be fine by me....

    •  Thanks, but how do you know this? (0+ / 0-)

I have been looking (albeit not terribly hard) for this point.

      •  Sen Issakson (GA) said so (1+ / 0-)

        Huffington Post reports:

On Thursday, Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) conceded that his agreement with the White House is done.

"Our deal was that the committee would hear all seven of them and the committee would vote whichever way they vote," Isakson told The Huffington Post. "Beyond that, there was no deal."
