  •  Here in Michigan we have too many deer (5+ / 0-)

    and that problem alone leads to other problems.   We have serious problems with tuberculosis in cervids that Michigan is trying to get under control.

    Next door, in Wisconsin, a different problem is occurring with chromic wasting disease in deer:

    The high deer population leads to traffic accidents (including human deaths) and damage to agriculture.

    These problems will not resolve without increased hunting and takes of deer, and we know that from the science and practice of state wildlife management.  

    As a result, your "hunting sucks" declaration isn't very useful to address these practical problems occurring in our state and in other places in the U.S.

      hunt deer, unless you plan to incinerate the carcass.
         It's not a good idea to consume the meat of an animal that may have a prion disease.

        CWD like scrapie is almost impossible to jump across species. Mad cow it's not.
