    but we are effective.

When we go out, the question isn't "did you get anything?"

That's rude. It implies that we might not have. It's considered an insult.

The proper question, the respectful question, is "how many did you get?"

    •  no insult intended but man...My hogs were freakin (0+ / 0-)

huge and I just can't imagine someone trying to stick willie or rosie and them dealing with it....

Both were over 700, no way in hell to lift the rear of the pig....

Just seems like a good route to a torn femoral artery to me but...like you say, it's a culture thing....I think I'd prefer my 45lc Carbine with a heavy Keith Wadcutter....

The island pigs are kinda small weight wise aren't they?  iirc don't they top out about 250?

but the biggest I've shot was about 450. With a knife (actually, a very dull machete) the biggest I've gotten was a 350 pound boar, and I have to admit I lost a tooth in that battle...

younger and uninjured and knew someone with the dogs, I'd probably try at least once...at this point in life I just couldn't do it any more.....Hell I need to watch my recoil levels if I want to move the next day..heh, backs suck.....
