  •  "Enforce the law"? (4+ / 0-)

I don't deny the subtle benefits of making these kinds of accusations for show. But even contrarians like youself must admit that this will have exactly zero effect on "big business people." China will continue to spy on US businesses, US businesses will continue to use US government regulations to preserve their bottom lines where their competitiveness can't, and the rest of us watch this circus and get more and more cynical about government regulation of anything.

Yes, China will continue to spy - but they'll do it less.

It's the same as any regulatory enforcement action. No, you're not going to deter every single person from doing it - after all, there's a profit motive to doing it - but you can impose a cost.

The US has the largest military and largest intelligence operations in the world, by far.

Even after all the revelations of the past year, as we debate here, TAO continues to hack into the systems of the world's governments including, as they proudly bragged in their power points, the Chinese Government, the Chinese Military, Chinese Universities and Chinese Companies, including those blacklisted in the US without evidence and apparently for commercial reasons.

When China requested a response from the US on this, the US arrogantly made none and continues to stonewall. Now Mr. Holder states he "hopes China will respect" the US judicial system.

I wonder what Holder is smoking. I'm beginning to wonder what Obama is smoking. That is truly sad.

The USA has more than 700 military bases around the world while China has zero and the US calls China a threat while the US bullies around as usual.

Based on your prior comments in this and other diaries I'm not sure you really grasp how the rest of the world is beginning to view the USA or why.

This gives an object example. The US has clearly run roughshod over even its close allies with it's spying and yet tries to deflect this by pointing fingers at China.

This is going to be another American foreign relations disaster.  After reading through the Justice Department press release, I'm really appalled at the approach the US takes on this and it's high handed statements that it "wont tolerate" spying.

Is that supposed to be some sort of sick joke? Is the Obama Administration living in such a bubble that it thinks the world will not see this for what it is?

They have really gone off the deep end. Seriously so.

Nothing good will come of this arrogance and hypocrisy.

Interesting that Obama's Justice Department is powerless to deal with warmongers and torturers, and crooked bankers that fleeced a nation and set off a global recession but have unlimited time to make Wanted Posters of accused Chinese hackers like some school children playing FBI.

Suggest you hit the link. Is this Obama's Legacy?

Is this what the American people elected him to do?

        Rome is burning.

No one is coming to save us, the future is in our hands.
