and predictably someone has falsely branded it "ageism." Fact is, she has earned the right to do what she wants, enjoy her life and cash in if she so chooses. A presidential campaign is two years spent in buses, hotel rooms and on planes.  Of COURSE she has earned the right to pass on that. and I think there's a better than even chance she will.

Totally disagree with DisNoir35. Age is far from "irrelevant" to a presidential candidate, and all Dinotrac was saying was that Hillary has earned the right to enjoy her life on her own terms and not be governed by the hectic schedule of a presidential campaign.

"She's earned the right to get out of the way."  You two are in an awful big rush to tell her what she should do.

        •  Seems to me like the Hillary "supporters" are (0+ / 0-)

telling her what she should do, kind of like stage mothers at a a Little Miss Tiara contest.

          She might well run.

Bob Dole was 4 years older than Clinton will be if she runs.  John McCain was 2 years older.
          They both got creamed.

"Old man" Ronald Reagan was about the same age as HRC when he ran.  We all know that he won and held on to win a second term.

Those candidates are notable for being exceptions to the rule and, Reagan aside, did not meet with much success.

There's also the matter of the state of the nation.  We tend not to elect the same party to the White House for 3 consecutive cycles.  It's only happened once since the passage of the 22nd amendment.  A resurgent economy could encourage her to buck that history, a continued drag could make her think twice.

This is Hillary Clinton we're talking about.  She has been part of some political process since college. I think her "resting" right now is getting prepared for a run.  Which is also her right.

      •  It is, and it might be too much for her to pass up (0+ / 0-)

Whatever the case, we won't have to wait that long to find out.
