This is immoral. Being an advocate of medical marijuana, I have put myself in this type of situation several times. The only reason there is still a war on this "drug" is that the big pharmas don't want anyone to horn in on their turf. They know that pot is not only NOT dangerous, but downright helpful, and if everybody had access to it, their profits would go down the drain.

I'll leave discussion of the other points to y'all. There are so many angles to this that are so wrong it makes me physically ill. There but for the grace of the flying spaghetti monster, I could be wearing an orange jumpsuit right now. Didn't the government learn ANYTHING from Prohibition?

      very young.
The government learned plenty over the years- like how to integrate corporate power with law enforcement, for example.
People born in 1940 have asked the same questions as you, and been just as aghast at the criminal unfairness of our system.
The answer we get is always the same- jail or prison.

I don't see how it can change. Legal pot is not a harbinger of humane laws, it is just a way for corporate interests to make a lot of money. Legal pot does nothing to reform the prison system. The states with medical marijuana have plenty of dopers in prison.

America has an authoritarian soul and it loves to punish.

I buy and sell well trained riding mules and American Mammoth Jack Stock.

I'm 54, but I've been through a lot. Younger than some, older than most.

Weren't the Puritans authoritarian? It seems to me that's where it all stems from. Can't have too much fun, gotta work all the damned time or God will strike you down.

I just didn't do much with pot until my battle with stage 4 breast cancer three years ago. Since then, I've helped other people dealing with the big C by providing, at cost, my special brownies. The problem is that corporate interests CAN't make as much money if pot were legal. If it were legal, we could all grow our own and they couldn't sell us high-priced drugs of all kinds.
