The message our absence would send is a childish pout: we don't think we can win so we won't play and you can't make us!

After all, we can't play this game without being in the game. Participation allows us the ability to counter the GOP's one-sided diatribes with specific, clarifying, fact based questions. It means the media will have to cover at least some Democratic positions rather than the news being a set of empty chairs (which the Republicans would exploit). It assures the witnesses - who will be brow beaten - that they are not alone, very important psychologically. We got their backs.

But ... once we have ranted about the demonstrable flaws in this ongoing ridiculous Benghazi mania, it will time to set the record straight. And we can. And consider that we, too, can call witnesses. I believe one reason the White House has been quiet is that it exposes some of the downsides about our ambassador's penchant for involving himself deeply in contentious matters, aggressively entering unprotected areas and not having sufficient security around him. No, this isn't blaming the victim, it's being realistic about the conditions in those countries.

2014 is HERE. Build up the Senate. Win back the House : 17 seats. Plus!
