    is a Nigerian govt that isn't so fucking weak and feckless.

    I don't know how exactly America is supposed to fix that.

      episodes where the Federation sends a fact finding team to a far flung planet to determine if they are ready for Federation Membership.

      And then when finding out that the local situation is completely dysfunction - they tell them to get their act together and then re-apply for Federation membership.

      Really, for the life of me, why should the USA be held responsible for governments that cannot control their own countries?  To me this is completely insulting to them.

      Shell and Chevron and suppress the Nigerian population to the extent necessary to please them and other co-venturer oil companies. That leaves few resources for dealing with stuff like Boco Haram.
