Why would we work on behalf of a third party?

    •  Because it represents Democratic values? (5+ / 0-)

Just because the 1% can buy a nomination why do I have to vote for the corrupt candidate?  Seems to me the fatal flaw in this vote for any Democrat thing is that is assumes the nomination process is free from corruption.  I don't know anything about New York but I don't know when we're going to get over this idea that every nomination is free and fair.

and youre free to vote however you see fit. But this site is for Democratic Party partisans. I dont just switch parties when it suits me and if Daily Kos did that I dont see why any Democratic politician or voter would take us seriously.

The only time politicions take their voters seriously is when they cannot be certain of their votes. Right now the Democratic party feels that it can be certain of all of the votes of anyone to the left of, say, Barack Obama. (Who has said three times now that his politics are those of a Republican from 30 years ago.) Isn't it funny how they keep chasing those that they feel they can't be sure of: the big money boys who finance their campaigns, and the (nonexistent, but much-touted) uncommitted center, which somehow moves further to the right with every election cycle?

you beleive that Democrats who are left will come running, begging for mercy and changing their positions. I dont think so. I think we will just have three parties, two of which can't win elections, pushing things further into conservative hands.

The truth is that the country has moved to the right ever since the civil rights act because by and large aging white people became more conservative in both parties. That was still just 50 years ago. So a lot of old white people simply have to die off, and then youll see things begin to swing thenother way.

            Patience grasshopper.

the country, and indirectly, the Democratic Party?

Government and laws are the agreement we all make to secure everyone's freedom.

That more or less defines the entire problem with this blog, and with politics at large in the United States.

This is a Democratic site. Liberals are not welcome.

to be here or be in the United States. If you want to found a site dedicated to 'more and better liberals' I'd support that. Along with this. Not an either/or thing for me.
