  •  I want to know how they'll handle Job. (8+ / 0-)

If they're going to teach the Bible in a public school, I want to see the curriculum for the Book of Job.  Wherein God tortures Job and murders his entire family to win a barroom bet with Satan.  And where Stockholm syndrome finally sets in and a long suffering Job suffers a psychotic breaks and creates a self-protecting delusion where God has actually loved him all along.  It's quite sickening.

Teaching that book has no place in any public school.  School is about knowledge, and as Genesis makes clear, God isn't happy with humans thinking for themselves.

    •  Actually, I think god is quite happy (5+ / 0-)

      With humans thinking for themselves.

I think she gets upset when human thinking is taken as god's.

      •  And, assuming there is a "God," I'm convinced (1+ / 0-)

he/she/it doesn't intervene in human affairs because of a perfect sense of humor which results in he/she/it being infinitely convulsed with laughter.
