  •  But will King debate his opponent this year? (3+ / 0-)

In his first five campaigns for congress, King refused to debate his opponents. In 2010, people in chicken costumes showed up outside his town hall events to indicate that he was too "chicken" to debate. His opponent, Matt Campbell, crashed one of King's town halls to try to force a debate. King said Campbell, the nominee of the Democratic party, was "not worthy." In 2012, King faced a well-funded candidate, Christy Vilsack (former IA first lady, wife of Ag Secy.) in a district changed by re-aportionment. King participated in a series of debates. This year, King's challenger is Jim Mowrer, an Iowa native who served as an intelligence annalist in Iraq. The question is, will King deem Mowrer "worthy" to debate?
