can't even win a primary.  Can anyone explain why Canseco performed so poorly?

In any case, I think Gallego is heavily favored to win another term.  A lot of people are just rating this one Lean Dem, but I'd be very surprised if he lost.

That looks pretty close on paper, but I don't think will be much of a scare. I have it in the same category as OR-05, IL-12, and FL-26.

      did not play well locally.

Also Canseco took a loan out from his Mexican businesses, as in they are in Mexico.

Plus people are tired of his grifting.

by implying that Jesus would not approve of him being somewhat pro-choice.

      •  I don't think Canseco is a grifter. (1+ / 0-)

He's a banker/lawyer who comes from old money Mexican wealth. He's sunk lots of his own bucks into his various congressional campaigns. Not a grifter.

What he is, however, is an opportunist making a comfy bed with his banking ilk in the Republican Party, hitting it rich when he did win that one time by fundraising amongst the elite, all while allowing his Hispanic roots to be used for partisan Republican purposes.

Why he lost this time? He's a Hispanic running in a Republican primary against a guy named Hurd in West Texas. Enough said.
