    White privilege exists. If the kid was black, it is possible that the outcome would have changed. But the problem is NOT that there is white privilege. The problem is that there is not that identical privilege for minorities. There should be an identical presumption of innocence for everyone.

    I think the criticism in the comments here is that your words at least imply that killer in this situation should have been subject to the same denial of rights that happens every day to minorities. But the solution is not to deny that same privilege to everyone, but rather to grant that same privilege to everyone.
