    and that's precisely the reason I read feminist literature.  Well, actually I started reading it to find out if I was just crazy or if what I was experiencing was a real thing.

    I guess I'm just commenting on the juxtaposition of the recent attempts to for women to talk about how misogyny affects them, and present their personal stories, (some..not all!) of the men here launching a huge backlash to that, and then the idea of these same men sitting around responding to this diary, saying, "So, read any good feminist books lately?  I've read quite a number of them!"

      that the male dKos commentators reacting adversely to women's stories of experiencing misogyny, are NOT the same individuals as those discussing their forays into the canon of Women's Studies books.  

      I mean, I suppose it's possible for a reader hostile to critiques of patriarchy, to go ahead and read them so as to be able to refute ... but I'm pretty sure that's very rare.  In general, most readers open their minds to what they read, and subsequently to what they hear.
