I fail to see how we elected him either! Hopefully, his reign of terror will be over in the next election.

Santorum Challenge - Let Cyber School
      Investigation Proceed

Santorum Prematurely Declares Victory in Cyber School Case

HARRISBURG, PA:  In a bizarre move, Rick Santorum staged a press conference yesterday to proclaim himself vindicated in an ongoing investigation into his residency and whether the Penn Hills school district should be reimbursed for the taxpayer money spent to send his children to a Pennsylvania cyber school.  However, the investigation is not over.

During the press conference, in which Santorum refused to take questions, he made numerous false statements. Santorum is hiding behind a technicality and is not telling the truth to taxpayers.

"I'm challenging Rick Santorum to not hide behind a technicality," said Rep. T.J. Rooney, Chair of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.  "If Santorum truly wants to be vindicated, he should let the process continue," said Rooney

The initial opinion released by the state hearing officer did not address whether Santorum was justified in enrolling his children in the cyber-school.  The finding only contends that the school district waited too long to file paperwork disputing Santorum's residency.

"Santorum is ducking the fundamental question of whether the Penn Hills taxpayers should recoup the taxpayer money they spent to educate his children even though Santorum's family lives in Virginia," said Rooney.

Yesterday's preliminary opinion was issued as part of an ongoing investigation by the Penn Hills school district to recoup taxpayer dollars spent to send Santorum's children to a cyber charter school.  Santorum and his family appear to live in Virginia.

The investigation is not over until the Pennsylvania education secretary issues a final ruling.  Such a ruling will not be issued until mid-August at the earliest.  The Penn Hills school district could still appeal the preliminary ruling.  If there is an appeal, the date of the final ruling could be pushed back.

NOTE:  In a previous campaign, Santorum aired TV ads attacking his opponent for not living in Pennsylvania.  It appears Santorum uses a different measuring stick when it comes to his own move to Virginia.
