I worked in IT for 25 years and I got out of it and went to grad school so I could help us deal with issues of resources to include energy, sustainability, and climate change.  I've decided to not worry about the deniers anymore; there's just too much to do.  I will gladly talk with anyone - person to person or groups - who is interested in understanding what science tells us about climate change and what the challenges are with adapting to it or mitigating it, but I only have so much bandwidth and time so I'm not going to put a lot of that into trying to convert the hardened anti-science crowd.

I think the adaptation and mitigation efforts that come to mind are in many cases large-scale shifts from BUA (Business-As-Usual) and those can seem scary when you contemplate them.  But there's a whole economic-industrial mega-force out there that wouldn't be a mega-force if not for BUA, so their propaganda plus fear of change makes for a toxic stew of people whom I'm not the one to drag into the 21st-century; that'll have to come later when their expectations get wedged into what's actually going on around them.
