  •  Propaganda Machines (0+ / 0-)

Blatant right-wing idiocy, so prevalent in broadcasting today, is a destructive force in society. Apart from Fox News, the right has purchased hundreds of local radio stations solely for the purpose of converting them to propaganda outlets. Daily, these purveyors of anger and animosity spew noxious bits of hatred and misinformation to gullible audiences composed largely of uneducated or under-educated listeners. They do so, moreover, not for ideological reasons but for financial gain, for it's profitable to stir dissent, to pit citizen against citizen. These broadcasters will continue to divide the nation as long it remains in their personal interest.  They represent the antithesis of a societal model in which citizens cooperate, working for the common good. As such, they are our enemy.

    •  It's a good thing, then, that millions of their (0+ / 0-)

young people quietly fall away from the hate every year. You can't raise them completely in the bubble any more. Why, the Barna Group, an Evangelical polling company, reports that 38% of young Evangelicals fact-check sermons on their smart phones. Presumably that happens with radio too. Maybe even Fox.

      Back off, man. I'm a logician.—GOPBusters™
