    who 'sold' Obama on the idea the guy was a patriot? the CIA?

    the backstory seems more like a problem from Langley than the Pentagon.

    so if he was on a mission where he had to appear a certain way, it would make more sense there was a major initial mission to find him.

    if members of his unit knew so openly he was a deserter, it would seem that information would have come back three years ago when the notion of rescuing him first came up.

    cheerleaders need not apply.

      I have wondered about that in reading all this stuff - the Rolling Stone piece even talked about his alleged desertion back when it was first published - 2012 I believe?  So why now all of a sudden is he 'not worth the ransom' when he sure as hell was before?

      Never mind, a purely rhetorical question and for a Repugnant, one they will never be able to coherently answer.
