  •  If we want media response, we need to call for it! (9+ / 0-)

Every Kossack who is touched by this post and wants this story covered on MSNBC should email the URL to at LEAST one of the MSNBC show hosts, along with a message letting them know that we want (and WV needs) coverage of this ongoing crisis. West VIrginia is one of our poorest, and therefore frequently ignored, states --but that's not supposed to be the way that progressive journalists function.  When people are breaking into houses to steal safe water, it's time for the media to notice.  And of course, the careless dumping of toxins for cleaning coal into WV's water ways is also relevant to coal being in the news currently as the EPA seeks to rein in other problems with this highly polluting industry.

It wouldn't hurt to send messages and the URL to network news figures, CNN, the NYT, etc., as well as MSNBC.

Journalists are supposed to tell us the news.  But the reality is that increasingly often we have to tell them the news first.

This is something concrete we can do to express our concern.  Tweeting this diary is another way to go.
