  •  The GOP has forgotten how to pick battles (9+ / 0-)

They have also forgotten how to talk to anybody besides their fringe.

This is such a political loser it's pathetic. Definitely one of those "please proceed" moments.

Almost everything you do will seem insignificant, but it is most important that you do it.

    •  It's a base-energizer for the GOP. (2+ / 0-)

Another Benghazi, for a party that commits forced errors and needs its own special subject(s) for expertise. This took attention away from their election campaigning goofs. You bet they'll flog it.

"Please proceed" only works where neutrals are watching and might be influenced. I'm thinking this one is just a momentary flap to them, whereas with the GOP base, it will live on in infamy.

2014 is HERE. Build up the Senate. Win back the House : 17 seats. Plus!

      •  Sure it works with the base (6+ / 0-)

Base-energizing bullshit is literally all they have left, and their base is vanishing. If you want to turn purple states blue, this is exactly the kind of thing you should be doing. They are banging this drum nationally and making fools of themselves in the process.

I know this isn't a popular sentiment around here, or with the fuckwit right, but the center still matters. Republicans have given up on trying to talk to those voters. If Democrats had a whit of spine they'd be standing on the GOP's neck right now.
