  •  I would just book it out of there. (18+ / 0-)

I'd not be leaving as a political protest.  I'd be leaving because I was SCARED FOR MY LIFE.  With REASON.

Seriously, I don't understand what's so hard about this.

FLEEING FOR MY LIFE trumps "oh but I owe $12.50 plus tip."

THERE'S SUCH A THING AS U.S. MAIL, and I'm not gonna risk my life in order to pay in person.

familiarity breeds contempt, I've been in a store being robbed at gunpoint (in Chicago not my hometown) and while apprehensive, just not scared to death.   Too many people, this is an area going from rural to far out exurban over my lifetime, have always had guns, you see them, you usually know who has one, it isn't as terrifying.  For me it would be political.  I also know what the hot buttons are, when the out of state Obama organizer came to town, I told him not to let anyone go door to door in a certain section of the county, they risked being shot.  He ignored me, sent someone out and at the third farm, the person had a shotgun pulled out that was leaning on the doorframe (common practice) and ordered the canvasser off their property or they'd start shooting.   Nobody went back out to that area again.

This is also the point I keep making about why open carry shouldn't become normal,  people need to remain alert and wary of people with guns, especially in suburbs and bigger cities where you don't tend to know people or neighborhoods as well.
