  •  We had a student (5+ / 0-)

who qualified for talking books even though he was not blind.  He had multiple learning challenges.  If you can find interesting titles for Draco in audio, I'd say go for it!

Our library has things called Playaways.  They are totally self-contained, about the size of a thick business card, and fit in your pocket.  All you need is headphones.  My friend uses them while she cleans the house and says it makes the work go faster.  You might want to check to see if your library has them, too.

    •  The Orlando library had these. (4+ / 0-)

Alas our small county library up here does not. Bit would qualify for books for the blind, just have to get the paperwork printed out and get her to the eye doctor.

It could make her studying so much easier.  Our Area Education Agency provided audio textbooks for these kids, too.  Don't know what you have in FL.

And I hand write her work book pages, and we use a lot of web pages with an on screen text reader (which we have already because of my other half), videos, etc. But yes, it will be helpful especially because she LOVES to read. She does have an audible membership as well, which she uses on her tablet, plus of course CD's at the library.

Iowa, but here home schooled kids have access to all the stuff kids in regular classrooms have, including assistive (sp?) technology.  At any rate, it sounds like you have things well under control.  If you've got a kid who loves to read, you're miles ahead of a lot of folks.  :-)
