    the "worth" of Bergdahl.

I am saying that the Administration necessarily did.  And they decided he was worth the five Taliban guys.

I'm not saying they were wrong.

I'm saying that they made that value decision, and they shouldn't pretend that they didn't.

this, since they DIDN'T "pretend they didn't" make a value judgement that his life was worth the prisoner swap.

FFS, President Obama is at a press conference saying that he made the decision to do it, he doesn't apologize for it, it was the right thing to do, and as for all the people bleating that he made he wrong decision, they don't bother him, it's "par for the course."

He also smacked down fucking idiots like Joe Scarborough and god knows who all else in the media and the country who are making a value judgement that this man's life was not worth it, in fact not worth anything according to them, he should have been left there. Which they fucking needed smacking down for! And yes, many people ARE saying that, don't pretend they are not.

I really don't know why you are pretending that anyone "pretended they didn't" make this decision with eyes wide open about who they were releasing and who they were getting back. So he didn't specifically say "we weighed his value as a human being and decided to trade five POWs for his release" -- because there is no need to state such an obvious point, which everyone knows it's part of such a negotiation -- that's actually why it's called a negotiation!
