  •  Thank You All (10+ / 0-)

As a Brit I would like to extend my personal thanks and eternal gratitude for your country's veterans, for the sacrifices they made along side my own countrymen and those of many nations that day, and for the fact that thanks to them all I grew up in a time when war like theirs was a distant and never experienced nightmare.

    Thank you America's Veterans.

We have not nor will not forget.

    •  How touching.... (4+ / 0-)

I went to school from 12 to 16 as my father was stationed at Portsmouth in the U.S. command. I attended a minor, and progressive, British Public School which has since merged with another school and is now coed. It was a wonderful experience. There were many Americans in the school, many from the Commonwealth nations, and of course a lot of native Brits. We had a handful of students from the Continent. It was 1962 and the war for most in England was still yesterday. There was a great camaraderie that came out of that.

Eventually I would become a historian with a specialization in American Political History, Constitutional History and British History. I never visit England without visiting a Churchill site.

I love following and being followed. Are you interested in mutually following each other as a way of keeping in touch?
