    are run by education management companies. Ingersoll's company is called Smart Schools LLC. He would collect two million dollars per year per charter school to "manage" them. Management companies keep unions out and they set the pay scale for staff. Charter schools usually pay less than union teachers in public schools.

    This means that when a "public" charter school siphons our tax dollars away from our public schools into charter schools, a large portion of that money is going to the management company, which the owner then skims a profit from. Charter schools don't use all of your tax dollars to educate children. Public schools do.
