  •  I ALWAYS think of you as a fighter (10+ / 0-)

Always. You just do it so nicely it slips under people's radar. You subversive you!

about an athlete I always found fascinating. He was one of the most ferocious competitors his sport had ever seen, yet, from what I saw, he NEVER gave his opposition any motivation they couldn't find within themselves. He was absolutely surgical in his public statements to not GIVE the opposition anything. Better than anyone I have ever seen, belied by his own competitiveness. HE never wanted for motivation or focus. Never.

He wasn't weak in any way. ::wink:: Despite not being in-your-face or trash-talky. His calm, enlightened energy was all about winning. His teammates knew, His opponents knew, too, in ways. Even if, overtly, he never did anything but compliment them.

He is a role model of mine.
