Democratic establishment on Wall Street accountability and civil liberties.   I said back in 2012 that if Republicans had a single brain amongst them they would run to the Democrats' left on some core issues.   Brat appears to be actually doing it, even though he is to their right on immigration.

The most important thing to take from this has already occurred. He will slip into an anonymous yet extremist obscurity like the rest of the Teabaggers in Congress once he takes his seat. NOTHING is going to change from this in actual legislation. The GOP might change their rules about primaries, but there's not much they can actually do to stop this insanity from taking over.

As my old ex-mother-in-law used to say: They made their bed, now they can LIE IN IT.

    •  I'm not sure that would be a bad thing. (0+ / 0-)

If Wall Street is fucking all of us- Dems AND Reps, i could care less who fixes the problem- as long as its fixed.  I think sometimes I forget that most of us, leaving out party, agree on almost everything.

This "Trickle Down" thing has turned out to be somebody pissing on my leg and tellin' me it's rainin'.

      •  It's not a bad thing at all, (0+ / 0-)

and it's why Democratic partisans will attack Brat mercilessly.  Because the one thing they fear and loathe more than anything is a Republican running to the left of the Democratic establishment on core liberal issues.

          •  Ron Paul in 2012 was viciously attacked (0+ / 0-)

by partisans of BOTH parties because he scrambled the simplistic dynamic that their sleazy Good Cop/Bad Cop game depends on.   It's why conservative Democrats like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton can't afford to have Republicans running far to their left on ANY core liberal issues, which Paul did in several cases.   The Democratic establishment hated him for it, the Republican establishment maybe even more so.  Glenn Greenwald wrote a brilliant essay on the topic in December of 2011.
