    his constituents loved him for that. They would not punish him for doing what they wanted him to do.

      This diary confirms my suspicions: Cantor was too busy being a Big Wheel that he had no time for the little people in his district who voted for him. The ones who needed his help dealing with the Federal bureaucracy. The ones who needed small favors -- say a letter of recommendation for one of the military academies. Not tending to stuff like this pisses off people, a few at a time.

      Of course those people talk to other people. And given enough disaffected voters, it can lead to someone like Cantor being primaried by a political unknown. After all, the folks in Virginia may have decided that Brat might not be any better than Cantor, but he certainly couldn't be any worse.
