    We do have a penchant for stirring up a bunch of sh*t, then acting surprised when old scores get settled and things go from bad to Hell. Typically these revenge campaigns score high on the war crimes and slaughter scales, too.
    Laos, Cambodia, and the Khmer Rouge comes to mind.
    As does Allende et al in Latin America, one of our favorite places to f' up. (Nicaragua recently, Mexico, Venezuela, Panama... the list is long, and the human toll is enormous).
    Whenever we export our soooo awesome war machine we are guaranteeing at least one more war after we're done doing our killing. Sometimes a lot more than that.
    It'd be nice to see this reality acknowledged, someday, by someone who has a say in whether or not we want to create another long lasting atrocity somewhere that happens to have something we want.
