Whether or not she as Secretary of State would be expected to have any influence on or anticipation of an ISIS attack two(?) years after she left office (and won't the arguments over that be fun?), her voting for the AUMF should make her fair enough game in itself.

      •  It's actually been about 16 months, and ISIS was (0+ / 0-)

an issue when she was still SOS, and the organization she left behind is the one that got flat-footed.  How much of that is on her, how much is on SOS Kerry, how much is the state of things when she took over and how much is just breaks of the game is open to much argument.

One thing's for sure: should she, as appears to be the case, decide to run, she'll be facing some flak from this.

    •  The surprise is Iraqi forces not fighting at all. (0+ / 0-)

Whole divisions fleeing. I suspect that nobody within the american national security apparatus had foreseen that the Iraqi Army would just abandon all those cities without firing a shot. When they OUTNUMBERED the insurgents.
