  •  Right, ISIS are freedom fighters now. (4+ / 0-)

Not only is ISIS not for anything beyond psychotic jihadi insanity, they are not even Iraqi.

They aren't nationalists like the NVA.

Pretending they are good guys to be ignored is beyond naive.

That, in its essence, is fascism--ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. -- Franklin D. Roosevelt --

    •  People that I might liek is irrelevant (0+ / 0-)

Launching wars on people because you do not like them is a war crime, like our war of aggression against Iraq.  This is a mistake we are recycling in Chad, Uganda, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Nepal, the Philippines, et tedious cetera. The above list is very incomplete.

Are these people going to attack America. No. Not now, not in the foreseeable future.  Are they going to attack our treaty allies, which does not include the government we installed in Iraq? No. There is no basis for more war except warmongering.

      •  Attacking ISIS is no war crime. (0+ / 0-)

ISIS committed the war crime when they invaded a sovereign nation from across a border.

ISIS is not a nation but a band of militant outlaws.

They are a psychopathic jihadi movement so violent and deranged that Al Qaeda disavowed them as too extreme.

They slaughtered 1700 unarmed people on day 1 in Iraq.

We should support all international efforts to thwart their illegal war crime invasion and campaign of massacre and extremism.
