  •  You have to think like a Republican. (7+ / 0-)
And while we must again point out that having six inches of seawater in your coastal place of business would probably be a much bigger job-killer,
To them that's not a job killer, that's a job maker - having to relocate and rebuild after everything's destroyed.  They don't care how much $ is spent to do so as long as it's  not on their watch.

      •  They will no doubt find a way to profit (4+ / 0-)

from the coming disasters. I hope we track their names, their networks and the descendants that will inherit the riches they are reaping from destroying our climate stability. Future generations deserve to at least know exactly who did this to them and who profited from it.

Profit in the carbon causing it, profit in the military and security complex and home security industries to defend against rising mayhem at home and abroad, profit in disaster news coverage, profit it infrastructure upgrades and relocation, profit in real estate transactions of new venue acquisition, and of course profit in the finance that underwrites it all.

And all of the profit goes to existing economic forces that are already very powerful.

That's why it's impossible for modern civilization to tackle this issue, when operated as intended.
