  •  I loved the Cousteau documentaries (6+ / 0-)

But I disagree about the perceived lack of similar shows today.

On PBS, Nature is almost always worth watching. Your station may vary, but we get it every Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Likewise, NOVA, which is science for everybody.

I'm sure I could go through the rest of the PBS schedule to find other regular science and nature programs.

Any group with the word "Patriot" in its name, probably isn't.

I even mentioned that PBS had such shows, however I was referring to such shows that aired on the main broadcast networks which still receive the lions share of viewership.

I regularly watch NOVA and other PBS shows, however, PBS' viewership is already largely accepting of science and may not reach households like these other shows used to.

That doesn't diminish the quality of those programs though.

      thanks

Of course, no network today has the viewership that ABC, CBS, and NBC had in the 1960s and '70s. But yes, we all sat around the set and watched every time the latest Cousteau special was aired.
