    some heads here to explode.  Stiglitz, for what it's worth, hasn't agreed with Krugman on this.

    It's not the bailouts that bother me.  It's the lack of prosecutions.

      as a consequence of justified prosecution. Rather, we'd convict criminals who knowingly and massively rigged and gamed the system to their advantage, by lying about mortgage securities' true ratings, risks and returns, by lying to borrowers and failing to adhere to minimal credit worthiness standards and then lying about that, by failing to maintain adequate reserves to back up risk positions, by making insane bets with OPM and then lying about that, etc. If for no other reason than that these people are dangerous to the global economy, they should be in jail, in the white collar version of Gitmo.
