opinion (more likely, its TV critics) but the first two seasons got totally panned by people who did NOT have a clue what was going on. More recently, the reviews have been positive, with the caveat that there's a lot of exposition -- not surprising, given all the backstory that can't be shown b/c, well, different media have different strengths.

But they definitely had the WRONG critics for the first two seasons.

and looked at the reviews and damn your right.  None of the reviews gave the any season a positive review.  To not have rate any of the seasons as good is just insane.  Either their taking pride in being contrarian or are just plane out of touch.

But I think "just plain out of touch" is more accurate. Those critics saw what they expected to see: Oh, it's fantasy, not worthy of my time. And totally missed the beauty that was right in front of them.

By the third season, when the show was clearly a hit, some editor found someone who was not clueless to review the show, and the reviews got better.

But those first two years? F'n clueless.
