    I was eight years old when they were martyred. I remember sitting in a sweltering waiting room in Birmingham, Ala while my father was on business, looking at a magazine photo spread detailing the recovery of their bodies.

    In a very real way, my life was shaped by the knowledge of their sacrifice.


    Nothing human is alien to me.
