sequences that appear in nature in the case about the drug company that wanted to patent the genome sequence for a tendency toward a particularly nasty form of breast cancer. if I am correct it was his one and only shinning moment.

a decision about mandatory minimum sentencing.

Very very strange breakdown of rulings.

The opinion was written by Thomas with Sotomayor, Kagan, and Ginsberg concurring in full (yes, you read that right) and Breyer concurring in part.

Roberts wrote a dissent for himself, Scalia and Kennedy.

      Alito wrote his own dissent.

where both Scalia and Thomas joined with the liberals to hold that warrantlessly using thermal imaging of the exterior of a home in an attempt to detect heat lamps used to grow marijuana plants is a violation of the 4th amendment.

The two also joined in the 2013 case of using drug-sniffing dogs around the exterior of a home without a warrant.  Again it was Scalia writing the opinion, joined by Thomas, Ginsberg, Sotomayor and Kagan.   ....strange bedfellows, no?

And for the Marijuana Legalization warriors on this site, Thomas was on your side, joining the dissent, in Gonzales v Raich when the Court found that the US can criminalize marijuana grown in a state (California in this case) that allows its use for Medicinal purposes.  He had O'Connor and Rehnquist with him on that one.
