I would call where we share opinions the "middle."  To me the middle is compromising any beliefs you might have to get something done for the sake of getting something done, not finding common ground and pursuing it.

Seinfeld lines.  We compromise all the time...at the workplace, in our marriages, with our children.  It's not a dirty word.

in Washington generally means everyone (but moneyed interests of course) gets screwed.  So to me, and I am sure to others, compromise is a bad word.

          How's that going for them?

compromising going for us?  We get watered down bills that actually hurt us in the long run.  It is one thing to find commonality, it is another thing all together to damage your own party's stated positions.

The TP is filled with nihilists.  They have no intent to govern.  Bad comparison.

Corporate donors call the shots in Congress and the WH.  Right now, the only conflict is between two groups of corporate/banking sectors.

They'll reach a compromise for their own legislative agendas, it won't offer any kind of relief for those of us here on Main Street.

who said "compromise is not in my vocabulary" or words to that effect.  Was it Speaker Boehner?  Remember several years ago when he said "we got 95% of what we wanted" yet that still wasn't enough??  They're the worst kind of scoundrel!!
