    Much of humanity has been doing that for centuries. The  oceans are big but not infinite, and the delicate ecosystems within them are already struggling to overcome not only warming waters and acidifying waters but also the chemicals and supernutrients and oil and radioactivity and all other manner of crap we've dumped into them,especially in the past century. And without sewage treatment, we'd still be in the middle ages, as far as public health goes.

      I meant to channel sea water in a manner that it could be used to process waste and be used for industrial purposes. The ocean is pretty darned vast, and our scientists must have some ideas by now that would mitigate using precious drinking water for just about everything. No, the sea water would not just go back into the ocean. It could be utilized in a separate environment, built by any money not used for the military or given to the wealthy. Could that happen, is what I am asking people who might know?
