there is a particular god that gives a rats patootie or every television in Texas blows up at the same time, I have serious doubts.
I can say that. I'm from and in Texas.
Organizations, like Battleground Texas, are wearing out soles to get people to vote. We'll never have more money than Abbott, but it is pouring in. What is required is the same old thing: people to get up and do something to defend themselves.
We need a miracle along the lines of the 1980 Olympic hockey team.

Even if the outcome is as predicted, and the GOP holds TX Governor office for another term, anything we do to galvanize progressive voters and those disenchanted with the current GOP has the potential to continue the evolution of TX from red to purple to blue.

Wish I'd read all the way down the diary before donating, though, 'cause I dropped a Grant for Ms. Davis.

What I wrote was my thoughts, feelings and conjectures. I'm certainly no expert. But I do know, from conversations I've had, that people are sick and tired of being sick and tired. We've got the votes. However...
I have been wracking my poor old brain for months trying to figure out how to get people to the polls.  How to inspire. The best I've come up with is better ads. Ads that are Super bowl quality without the price tag. Hollywood movie trailer. I'm talking soap  operas and DWTS in 15 to 60 seconds that won't be muted or changed after 3 showings. Stories that will inflame and get people off the couch and out the door.
If too much leisurely TV watching is a problem: maybe it can be a solution.
Know any writers? Know any body that knows any writers?
Know Kevin Bacon? Any thing would help.
