  •  Seriously? (9+ / 0-)

Are you seriously attempting to "slut shame" here?

    Keep your legs closed????

So, if your wife/girlfriend (I am assuming hetero male based on the comment) doesn't want to have a baby with you, yet - she should just deny you sex?

    •  That's dishonest (0+ / 0-)

You did not address the other side of that as well.
I believe men should not have ED meds covered as well.
A company should not have to cover medicines for non-medical reasons.
Having sex is not medically justifiable.
      Male or female.
If someone does not have sex, they will not die.
They may feel like it, but l can assure you it won't happen.

      •  No, I addressed the "women as sluts" part of that (9+ / 0-)

which is the disconcerting part to me.

        Not dishonest at all.

Like it or not, we are sexual beings.  So no, it won't kill you per say, but it IS part of our biological makeup.

I have zero problem with men receiving ED pills - zero.  I do have a problem with telling a woman to "keep her legs closed" as the solution to the issue - because that phrasing makes it sound like you view women as sluts for having sex.  I.E. "slut shaming".

Again, I ask you, because a majority of women on birth control are MARRIED, but don't want kids yet - is the solution for women to deny sex to their husbands, just so they won't have kids?  That is what "keep their legs closed" implies.

And FYI - pregnancy IS a medical issue.

        •  Sluts (0+ / 0-)

I do not view women as sluts, you are getting off the point.

The point is not having a business pay for non-medical meds.
ED for men or Contraceptives for women UNLESS they are medically necessary.

          Living is a medical issue.
Pregnancy as l have been told is "and altered state of wellness".

No, married women shouldn't deny their husbands sex because their company won't kick in for the pills. Are pills the means of prophylactic?

          •  Okay (6+ / 0-)

You've decided you don't want to pay for someone else's lifestyle choice, huh?  Women should pay for their own birth control medication if they want to avoid getting pregnant?  So, should someone who is a smoker be paying for their own lung cancer or heart disease treatment?  How about someone who is obese paying for all the costs of their diabetes care?  Should someone who got in a car accident and wasn't wearing a seat belt cover the costs of their injuries?  Should we let children whose parents refused to vaccinate them cover the costs of treating their measles and any lifelong disability that results?  It's an all-volunteer military, are they on their own for injuries they sustain in war?  There are very few medical conditions in the more affluent countries, at least, that don't have some element of choice on the part of the person having the condition.  Just how many people are you willing to throw under the bus to make a point?  Or is it only when it involves the sexy, not the smokie or the eaty or the risky or the stoopid or the duty?

          •  Don't view women as sluts? Why'd you say (4+ / 0-)

            keep their legs shut then???
