Signed up years ago but just started commenting this morning. 18 comments in one day about the HL case.

There is a thing called DBAD here

Do you know anything about any other political parties or do you just drink the kool aid and eat the cookies here?
This fits the bill. I think you are a troll.

    •  Nope (0+ / 0-)

      Not a troll.
Just someone with a differing opinion here.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of that here.
I like to debate. Yes l joined awhile back, lost interest, then came back, recently.
Had to get my password through my email, forgot it.
Here now though, really enjoying all the back and forth.

I have called no names, l certainly have not had some of the rancor and disgust l sense from some of the people here. It is very visceral response to some of the topics.
I had tried to stay on issue, but this was a smear on an entire group of Americans using an example that was opposite of what that group represents.
      Can't abide that.

They clearly signed up in July 2011 to stick around to do some rightwing blathering during the 2014 election season. I expect the Hobby Lobby decision brought them out of the woodwork. But I can't see this kind of rightwing douche staying silent through 2012. They probably registered several IDs, and roll them out for different seasons.

Which means there's probably more of them. These rightwing boobs don't think for themselves. There's probably a Koch Brothers budget funding them and their director, and the talking points to push.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're cheap foreign labor. Though there's certainly plenty of these zombies in the US who don't realize that a couple Montana methhead grifters are perfect fits to the Teabagger Nation. Even when they are one themself.

Wow, the level of paranoia is astounding.
Do you honestly believe that there are people out there that can't have their own thoughts that are different from yours?

I am sitting on my couch, watching US vs Belgium and chatting with all of you.

I am a single person, no mole, no Koch bros, nothing as sinister as you would believe. Just me.

        Maybe that's what scares you?

        •  Your Existence (5+ / 0-)

We're not scared. We just think that you lurking for years to come out of the woodwork just to post such insipid blather, obviously designed just to irritate, shows that you're a tool.

What is it with you rightwing talking points parrots that the only emotion you recognize is fear? It's projection, right?

          •  You are right (0+ / 0-)

And l am not being facetious.
I came to this website hoping to find a place where l could debate my ideals with other people who had opposing ideals so that maybe l could either strengthen those ideals or toss them out.
It doesn't seem to be possible, there is to much animosity to the individual who holds those ideas.
Also their is ALOT of paranoia.i find it a lot on other sites as well. Everyone feels like the other is out to get them.

I did open the account awhile back, never used it. Now l am back. Should l open a new account? Assuage some of the feelings of plant or mole? Doubt that would help because the same ideas would still come from me and l would be "outed" easily and the barbs would fly all over again.

            •  "Drink the Koolaid" (5+ / 0-)

You could start by engaging people you disagree with fundamentally without using obnoxious phrases like "drink the koolaid" or accusing people of being scared. That's not "strengthening your ideals", that's being a douche.

Even when people who are ideologically consistent with this site's liberal Democratic mission talk like douches, they're in trouble. And the site not infrequently has actual agents provocateur who have been proven, so your posting history combined with your inflammatory style of course gets you rejected. Your ideas are secondary, even in your own presentation.

Try actually engaging and you might sharpen your ideals. Keep up that style and you'll just be treated as the enemy.

              •  It seems that everything is going back to that one (0+ / 0-)

                Line.

So out all the posts that l have placed here today it is the one line that has been that offensive?

If that is the only thing that has been that upsetting and ruffled so many feathers then l will refrain from that.

If l maintain to keep my abrasive comments to myself do you think that others can refrain from calling me a white supremacist, or an asshole, or a troll, or a Nazi?

Never did l once call anyone any names, just questioned the validity of the comparison of someone's post and yes the last line was to far and l have acknowledge such and apologize to the one l offended.

                Enough of that, ok?
Can we get back to the issues at hand now?

                •  Not Everything (3+ / 0-)

You are talking to me, in a subthread replying to that post. Yes, that one line was inflammatory. Of course everything else you say is going to be seen coming from the same place. Internet discussions give very little info about the whole person, but comments like that tend to supply a lot of info about the person. Of course you have to refrain from portraying other people disagreeing with you as cultist koolaid drinkers.

You also tried accusing me of being scared of you, which is also a bad tactic for getting an open communication.

I can't speak for anyone else, but Daily Kos is a community. A lot of other topics outside direct politics are part of the conversations that bind people together here. The politics have direct effects on people's lives, who aren't here to "hone their ideals", but to talk about what makes their actual lives hard in practice, and what could help them succeed better. The kinds of political ideals you seem to want to hone are shared by actual White supremacists, actual trolls, and even actual (or close enough) nazis - and other assholes. If you want to both minimize angry, oversimplified reactions counterattacking you as a representative of a category rather than as an individual, you'll have to stop attacking with the rhetoric that a recognizable group uses. A group that has members who not infrequently post here as nothing but trolls: people interested in nothing but causing flame wars, not actual discussions.

You'll also have to accept that a conflict isn't over just because you've had enough of it, but only when you and others in the conflict are all done.

If you want to discuss issues according to your ideals, you'll have to talk in a way that encourages return engagement. I can't promise you won't find assholes here responding to you, but at least you'll have a chance.

Indeed, you'll probably find that you have more in common with people here than you expected. Most people do, even when they agree.

                •  And Thank Yous (0+ / 0-)

You could also thank people who spend a lot of time giving you good advice. It's a polite way to end a conversation, even if you disagree.

But maybe you weren't soliciting advice after all. Maybe you just wanted to keep talking a while until you could insist "enough of that".

You're not going to get much but arguments like that. Have fun in the meme pool - don't get in over your head.

            •  You did not start out debating, you first attacked (0+ / 0-)

someone who was writing about her teabagger neices. You acted like  the person did not know the political beliefs of her family members or that he or she was lying.
You simply could not believe her nieces were teabaggers who watch Fox news because of their situation. Well plenty of right wingers are on welfare too and have children by different fathers. It happens across political spectrums for a variety of reasons.

It is like Teabaggers who protested ACA by telling the government to keep their hands off their medicare when medicare is clearly a federal government program.

You did not start out debating, you just insulted a person right off the bat saying she was wrong about her own family members and accused her of assumptions and fabrication is how I read your comment.
