in a comment upthread, that she cited from a Planned Parenthood case, that puts it quite succinctly:

The ability of women to participate equally in the economic and social life of the Nation has been facilitated by their ability to control their reproductive lives.

      Disparage abortion?

What's the very worst kind of abortion? A concept the MSM and too many Dems repeat without thinking, by the way:

      Abortion as birth control
      Gasp!

How dare women control their reproductive lives!

I would actually say, instead of "facilitating", that women controlling their own reproduction is necessary to participating in society.

And basically, in most cases of abortion, it is birth control - a woman is controlling whether or not she has a child. This is the idea that is anathema to so many right wing Neanderthals. And shame on the women who are too stupid to see that.

Or heck, even hold the management jobs I've held that require loads of hours and tons of travel if you're getting pregnant every year or every other year. If you're someone business or government relies on, you have to BE ThERE.

That's the whole point. I think a lot of people here assume the rightwing fight is about sex. And for some inhibited ultra conservative Fundies, it might be.

But the big fight -- the important fight -- is about the fact that women are starting to move into the CEO 's office right now.  We're getting mentoring programs to start being put on Boards of Directors right now..

We almost have parity on the US Supreme Court. A woman was just made a 4-star Admiral.

It's now or it's never for powerful RW men who are clinging to the status quo. Hobby Lobby didn't act on its own. It used to provide all contraceptives.

What changed? I think there are RW forces behind it. I think this is the issue that unites most of the conservative leaders and pundits from Paul to Huckabee to Rubio to Hannity.

This isn't about sex. It's about power. It's about slamming the glass ceiling shut and reinforcing it.

I think we miss it when we think it's about anything else.
